Omega oils are type of dietary fats that considered to be healthy fats as compared to saturated fats.

Omega oils come in 2 main forms – polyunsaturated and monounsaturated. Omega oils are an important part of a healthy diet. These fats help reduce the risk of heart disease and lower cholesterol levels (among other health benefits) when they replace saturated fats in the diet. Omega 3has been proven to be most essential in maintaining heart health.

Omega 3 oils can be found in both animal and plant source. Omega 3 from animal source is in the form of DHA & EPA and are abundant in cold-water fatty fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Plant source of Omega 3 are found mainly in seeds like perilla seed, flax seed and chia seed as well as some nuts and vegetables.

Omega oils are unsaturated fats which make them highly unstable with heat and not suitable for cooking. Best way to consume is to use as garnish or take it raw with food for better absorption. Store in a cool dry place and once opened store in fridge.
